CHRISTMAS PARTY REMINDER

Just a reminder, the RS Christmas Party is tomorrow night @ 6PM at the church. Remember to bring your donations for the money tree, and there will be a nursery provided for those who need it.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  Let us be grateful for all the many blessings we all receive throughout the year.

NOTE THAT THE DATE FOR STAKE CONFERENCE HAS CHANGED FROM THE 16TH TO THE 23RD.

HELP WANTED

Jodi Bailey Bills, a young mother and member of our ward, is suffering from adrenal failure (very serious). She also has celiac disease and a host of other health problems. She's unable to work and her husband has only a police officer's salary to pay for medical bills.

If the sisters of the ward would like to help there is a fundraiser Saturday morning. There will be 5k at 8 AM (can register day-of from 7:30-7:45 AM) or a Raffle at 9 AM. You can donate items to be raffled or simply buy. I have it on good authority that Steve Songer will be donating a print and that there will be at least one awesome gift basket available.

On September 11, 2014 @ 6:00 pm, we will be having our Fall Social for all the sisters in our ward, member and non-member.  This will be held in the back yard of Pat Songer.  This is potluck so bring your favorite potluck dish to share.

On September 27, there will be a dinner social prior to the General Women’s Meeting at the Stake Center.   The dinner will begin at 4:45 pm with the broadcast to start at 6:00 pm.  All women ages 8 years and older are invited to participate.  If you plan to attend, please let one of the Relief Society Presidency know as the Stake would like to have a ward count of all who will be at attendance of the dinner.

CORRECTION

It wouldn't be an announcement without a correction. The social is at 6 PM on Sept 11 @ Pat Songer's house. Look for more corrections to come.

SAVE THE DATE

For the Relief Society Fall Social Thursday, September 11 @ 6:30. Make something delicious to share and bring it to Pat Songer's house for food, friends and fun (of course).

Our forebears dreamed of Zion. “Come to Zion,” they said. “Even if you have to walk all the way. Leave Babylon and gather to the mountains of Ephraim.” No one can read the words of Brigham Young, John Taylor, or Wilford Woodruff without knowing that they thought of these mountain valleys as a great gathering place for people of one heart and one mind and one faith, a place where the mountain of the Lord’s house would be established in the tops of the mountains and where all nations would flow unto it.

On Thursday June 12, we will have our beginning of summer social for all Relief Society sisters. This is will be potluck and will be held at the Town Park at the West Bowery at 6:00 pm.   Come enjoy some good food and visiting with all our friends and neighbors.  Bring a friend. 

FAMILY HISTORY SUMMER CAMP 2014

They’re coming!  The Ogden Family Search Library family history summer camps will begin on June 2^nd.  The camps are interactive group activities designed for people ages 8 to adults. 

Camp will begin with a general meeting to learn age appropriate basic Family History concepts and see a short video about how to begin family history.  Next, the small groups will visit grandma’s front room to learn the story of a family who escapes Russian persecution in 1906-three year old Louis is left behind.  Then each group will visit learning stations around the Ogden Family Search Library.  They will search for clues about Louis Rapaport’s family.  Their guide will teach them what can be learned about family history by visiting a mock county clerk’s office, public library, and a cemetery.  They will visit and learn about digitizing books and how to access those.  The whole group will do an internet search with each participant at a computer.  Finally, the entire group will go to the “kitchen table” to begin writing their own history in the My Family booklet.

Youth and Adult groups will work through these stations rather quickly.  They will research their own family using internet sites under the direction of their guide.  These groups will have to come with names, dates, and places of deceased ancestors.  For Reservations: Call 801-262-1132

We'd like to welcome Brittan Parkinson back in Relief Society after returning from her mission in Chile. We as a ward are proud of her and her desire to serve the Lord.

SLIGHT CORRECTION

The Presentation tonight is for the Relief Societies of all three wards and is called, "Be of Good Cheer." So, maybe I should be calling it the Cheerful Presentation instead. Anyways, come with your smiles or your frowns, the presentation is for everyone. Thanks!

REMINDER

Depression Presentation tomorrow (April 10th) @ 7:00 PM in the Relief Society Room. This is a joint activity with the 2nd Ward. Thanks!

DEPRESSION PRESENTATION

We have been invited by the Huntsville 2nd Ward Relief Society to join them on Thursday, April 10th @6:30 pm in our church, for a presentation called "Be of Good Cheer."  

This will be presented by Karen Nickl and pertains to depression.
